I was able to get this just before sunrise a couple of days ago. It was pretty low for most of the time I was imaging it.

The star nearest the comet head is magnitude 12 and there's a little magnitude 15 galaxy toward the upper left.

Canon 50D
10" SCT
11 - 2.5min images at ISO800
6 Darks & Flats applied

Hope you enjoy it!

Jeff

I thought we should be able to see International Scientific Optical Network (ISON) in next weeks or months to come but then you must be an early bird!
Very well done.
Its is said that ISON has the potentials to be the most beautiful comet of the century and hope the literally cool ice body can survive that close encounter with sun that is due to happened ironically on Thanks Giving day. So hope the Thankss goes to save the comet. Anyhow good beginning and should see what more we are to witness in Nov and Dec this year.
Gear up guys with good plans as display could be magnificent in a short time.
Keep up the good job Jeff and show more.

Good work Jeff. The comet's got some brightening to do if it's going to be anywhere near impressive in the next few weeks!
