My second time shooting ZPZ. Dweezil isn't very animated on stage, so it was tough getting interesting shots with action/movement. After the first song, i realized close up shots with my 70-200 was the way to go, so I just stuck with that lens for the rest of the show.

Had to sign a release form too which was weird because I don't remember having to sign one for the last ZPZ show.

What is the show like? I've been meaning to go to one of them. I saw Frank a half a dozen times or more and I'm curious about Dweezil.

Nice shots. I don't see Scheila Gonzalez in any of them. Is she still with the band? She has a great stage presence and can really play...

I never had the privilege of seeing his father, but have caught ZPZ three times. The latter two shows were Dweezil with his band without any special guests. They are super tight and they absolutely do the music justice. Definitely worth going to see if you enjoy Frank's style.

The first time I saw Zappa Plays Zappa was the tour they did with Napoleon Murphy Brock, Steve Vai and Terry Bozzio. Those guys really put the show over the top and it made it a performance I'll never forget (and I see a LOT of live music!).

I actually did get to see and shoot them in December 2015. Great music and show but they were not very animated on stage for any great action shots. Frank was usually more photogenic but I wasn't shooting way back then so I never got any shots. Here are a few I got of Dweezil.
