Sor 'super wide' I've decided to go with my SEL 10-18, could use the 14 Samyang via the Metabones III but for weight/simplicity and I've already outfitted the SEL 10-18 with Pure Harmony ND and CPL.
My other option is the Tok 16-28 wiith Metabones...just depends on how long the hike is; here's one with the Tok:

There are a couple others..but I'm not sure this is one you'd want. See the note at the bottom.

Note: Canon EF lenses will activate the auto-crop function of full frame E-mount cameras such as the Sony A7, if auto-crop is turned off then EF lenses will vignette on full frame E-mount cameras.

Would love to hear back about this new cheaper adaptor. Has anyone purchased one yet? Tried it? How does it compare to the insanely expensive Metabones3

I haven't tried the Fotodiox, but have tried King adapter (paid $160 at ebay). I can say that the King adapter works just like the Metabones one. AF speed is slow just like Metabones but works just fine. I'm pretty sure Fotodiox would work just fine...
