Our local beaches were closed today due to an increased threat from sharks on account of a dead whale calf being washed up towards one of the beaches. I popped down to try to get a photographic account of the removal of the whale as its not something you see every day.
The whale calf did have an array of bites across its body (can been seen below), but whether that's what sealed its demise I don't know.
