I posted a review this morning on a third party hood for the Canon 24MM 2.8 IS lens. I normally wouldn't write about such a small item but the idea of paying 50 bucks for a plastic Canon lens shade really ate at me. I did something I never did before, buy a third party hood for only 15 bucks. It is made by JJC, fits the lens perfectly, snaps into place securely and even has a lock. It also stores in reverse on the hood with no issue. I compared the thickness and the of the plastic and it indeed is equal to the overpriced Canon.
