Monsoon season over here is a night mare for birding IMO. I have vowed not to spend another rainy season over here. 6 months of rain is a little much for me. Anyway it is starting to let up. So got out and shot a few birds.

Grey-headed Woodpecker
This guy stuck his head in a small glimmer of sun making it threw the canopy. I like the effect of it somewhat.

What a great set. Without a doubt those were worth the wait. I can understand your frustration, British weather often seems like that too.

I spent one rainy season over here a few years ago and vowed never again. I just reinforced my original decision... Man these gloomy days are a killer for me.
Migration is just in the first days. Looking forward to it in full swing.

Great set! You can send some rain to California. We're in a drought here.

The last storm of the season is passing threw here now. I hope.. My home is in Texas originally. And I know about the drought's.. That is no fun either, but it beats gloomy weather everyday IMO. Only thing in California they have the fires that rage for weeks on end? Not sure about that.

These birds must make you forget about the weather for a little while. Beautiful collection.

A lot of fun shooting these guys for sure. The weather will clear in November and be clear for 6 months. So a trade off. Very bad for 6 months then very good for 6 months.
Cheers and thanks for the comments.
Gary

Thanks Stuart.

Gear List

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
