Good day, fine folks of POTN...

If you're bored at work, put your creative hats on, I need a punchy name for a classroom.

A bit of background: This thread explains that I'll teach next January a select group of high-school students a lot about photography for a semester (one credit of photo 101, one for digital imaging and 2 credits of coop placement). The high school is well set up: a 850 sq. ft. studio with three stations, flash rails, a bunch of strobes and modifiers, etc... We call that classroom, well, "The Studio". Nice lettering on the door, you get the picture. Next classroom over is called "The Lab", because it has 20-odd workstations for post processing. Nice lettering on the freshly painted door as well. And there's a third, yet unnamed classroom that will be mine. That's where I'll teach theory, with the students sitting around a large conference table. (Practical exercices are either in the field or in "The Studio".) There will be a couch in a corner, with coffee station :) , perhaps a backdrop in the corner and a couple of flash rails.

Another teacher has suggested calling my future classroom "The Workshop", but I'm sure we can come up with a better name...

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

BTW, if you read french, the program's web site is at focusphoto.ca (external link)

Merci!

I'd call it the darkroom and chuckle every time someone asks what that means. You could put one of those big square timers on the wall to time your lectures.

The Darkroom... I like it. Especially since it will be the classroom where I'll also teach PP (with Lightroom and Photoshop, each student will be issued a Toshiba Tecra, i5 or i7 with 8G of RAM). And since I don't believe in tweaking images in a bright environment, the lights will often be dimmed.

Oh, how about going a little more esoteric and calling the classroom "La camera obscura"?
