A friend of mine has asked me to shoot them performing at a local haunted house.
The rooms are all pretty dark, very low light, plus effect lighting being used. (gels, strobes, blacklight and the like)
I've seen some photos from the past where they either had the exposure good for the background, or had flash used on the actor (losing the background)
I'm thinking tripod, long exposure times, rear curtain sync.
But for the actors that need a little illumination, I would like to use a flash, but don't want tolose the background / effect lighting.
This is where ttl would come into play, correct?
If so, perhaps somone has some suggestions on settings? still learning ttl
Or would it be better to set the flash to manual? very low output? Perhaps a snoot to direct the light only onto the talent, and not the background?
Tips, Tricks, Suggestions, and .02 appreciated!
Thanks!
