Ringlight catchlight...without using ringlight? lol look inside

I really dig the style of lighting used here and the soft way it falls on kevin bacons face. In the eyes, it looks like they used 3-4 different lights that look like a ringlight when placed together. However, they are curved perfectly in the shape of a circle so I dont think these are 3 straight tubes or something.

Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks

Are you sure? How come they look broken up?

One would be the connector and the other two gaps could just be braces for the bulb. When I was a kid we had a light in the kitchen with a round florescent bulb that had three plastic braces on it, it would look just like that.

Notice one of the gaps is larger than the other two, that would be where the connector is.

BTW, Adorama sells a florescent ringlight for about $100 IIRC that mounts to a lightstand.
