How much tilting ability would I get if I were to place a Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter on top of the stand within an Apollo Orb octabox? Or do I pretty much need a boom for that soft box?

Its available from Adorama HERE It works well and has the benefit of accepting the speedlites in their normal position with the flash tube centered with the umbrella mechanism center. The multi-boom is a great product. Tilting and duel flash mount make it almost a must have for any westcott apollo owner. However if you use it with a 43" orb you will also need a manfrotto 153 extension

Dmward. My best approach, although a bit hefty is the Manfrotto 420 NSB Boom stand. I use vinyl cuff weights to weigh down. I use it with my Apollo and it works perfectly. Not only does it allow full tilting but it provides for mounting of one or two flash units with the head mounted on axis with the umbrella shaft. Dave
