I wish that you could have shot the last one a little earlier. Generally the night shots I like the most have been taken before it's completely dark & there is still some glow in the sky. See the difference in these? Ships at Dusk

OTOH, GeoffSobering got a nice backlit shot of a F-16 in #2 here: (Air) Critique/suggestions on Night Operations photos

I can see some reflections from the horizon in the sides in #1 & that's what I'd be going for.

Nice shooting. I do notice though that all of them are downhill left. :)

Not the case I'm afraid, I got to the shoot a bit later than normal and the Tracker didn't run up until it was dark, none of the aircraft do it's how the event is run.

I'm putting up some photos soon, check them out you will see they are the same.

Regarding the OP too, I would shoot a little bit longer as the aircraft do look a little bit underexposed, but as it was your first then you did well.... going to the next one I assume :)

I take it that these night shoots aren't public events, since Northolt is only around the corner for me it would be nice to get on one of these, but then I guess there is probably a huge waiting list....how does one actually get onto such shoot/waiting list ?

You have to register with Phil (Graf Zeppelin on UKAR) the organiser... no limit on how many can go. The next one hasn't been given a date yet, but if you would like to go, get over to UKAR Airshow forum and look in the Aviation Waffle section :)
