Go hire the lenses and see which suits your shooting style.

Agreed.

FWIW I ditched my 85L in favour of the Sigma 85 1.4. Best lens change I've made in the last few years.

Interesting - I'm keen to hear why. I love my 85 1.2, but it's slow as hell to focus and heavy. Would love to hear your thoughts on the Sigma.

Mainly the slow as hell to focus. The Sigma is like lightening compared especially in low light. Other than a bit of magenta CA fringing which is easy to fix the quality is there for me.

I've heard rumor of the Sigma 85 not focusing accurately as consistently as either Canon 85's. Is this true in your experience?

I have the Sigma 35 and love that lens. I'm just wondering if its worth getting the Sigma 85 now or waiting until they come out with an Art version :D

I just can't justify the price of the Canon 85 f/1.2 or the lesser quality of the f/1.8

The 85 1.8 is a pretty nice lens.. Fast to focus. The magenta ca is easily removed.

Some churches make you stay in the back of the church. Some really big, dark churches.

Or way in one corner or the other (in the front) where you can never get both faces in a shot

I use a 6D and a 60D for my weddings and find the 70-200 too long on the 60D. It's my favorite lens for the 6D though. I really like the 24-105 range on my 60D.
