Just picked up a new 70D and moving down from a professional 1D body. Don't call me crazy. I've been doing a ton more video work and servo focus on the 70D sold me on it. That plus I am pocketing almost $2000 to put towards new glass. Yes, coming down from a 1D MKIV, the 70D does feel light, and the thing I miss the most of the large bright viewfinder. So far I haven't noticed much of a difference in IQ or dynamic range but I haven't pushed the 70D into any difficult situations yet.

Below is image # 1 from the 70D ( I didn't even rename the file) - This is my friends daughter. So far so good !

Nice. More/better glass is always a nice thing. ;)

I don't think you need to feel embarrassed or ashamed, whatever works for you is best.

Whatever works is all that matters. Great picture of the cutie. She makes your 70D better :).

It's not often I see a picture and smile myself. That pic did it. Too cute.

Great shot and congrats on the change. New glass should be a plus.

The 70D is a solid performer. Whatever tool works the best for you is the best for you - despite what some gearheads might say ;)

If you are doing a lot of video, I'd spend a little of your glass money on an STM lens...I know it sounds crazy to buy a "kit" lens, but I just picked up a 18-55 STM "white box" for $130 on ebay..and the AF drive is silent and smooth, and the total rig is super light, which is perfect for holding the camera one handed for video while using the touchscreen.

Arrived in 2 days on a Saturday and is as advertised. No warranty cards or anything since it was a white box, but for $130...yeah, not horribly worried about that.

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM
Other Stuff: 430 EX II, Luma Labs Loop 3, CamRanger
