I tried looking on the forum but didn't see anything current on this. Can I buy Canon "L" touchup paint direct from Canon without having to go the aftermarket color match route?
Thank you.

Having worked in an auto dealer with a body shop, admittedly 50 years ago, I remember it often said that white was the most difficult color to match well due to the presence of all colors in varying degrees. In contrast, black was said to be the easiest sine it was the lack of colors. The finish (gloss) is another consideration.

Wow, 50 years ago! reminds me of henry fords saying, you can have any color as long it's black, I work in conjunction with a body shop, today's black paint is one of the hardest colors to match and blend 40D Gripped, 50D, T2I Gripped, 5D Mark III Gripped, EF-S 18-55 IS, EF-S 55-250 IS

Oct 20, 2013 15:15 | #6 That link doesn't get into whether or not paint is available just that there was a color change unless I missed something? I'll have to see if there's a Canon number I can call regarding this.

Oct 22, 2013 19:07 | #12 Well I called Canon parts direct today and it's a no-go. They quit offering it about three years ago. Go figure. I guess that leaves Ebay etc. for any who need it.
