I can't imagine it being Venus or any other "stationary" object, that object is definitely on the move, that "track" was 10 minutes, and it' was out there again tonight, in approximately the same position/trajectory!

What were the times it passed and the direction for the pass tonight?

Tonight it was about the same time "window", figure it was directly SW at about 7:00 PM, and moving in the same trajectory, southwest "sloping" to the south and to the west.

It's interesting, because it is so bright and consistent!

Yeah that is interesting.
I ran a search for Vancouver, wa and didn't see any satellites that matched that path your speaking of at 7pm.

The space station actually passed at 7:54-7:57 and nearly directly overhead.

Well, interesting, this has shown up consistently, I just don't have an ID!

Okay, since you say that it's on the move then my guess is wrong. :o

Maybe a call to your local TV station will get an investigative team to work on this

A friend of mine sent this like awhile back: http://spaceweather.com …lqpl2f1fkqmi4vudd9auqt607 (external link)

Should give you some detailed path info (haven't really dug around the other link another posted above).

The thing was brighter than any stars and very much white. I'd estimate at least x10 the size of any bright stars you see at night. And I've been to very dark places to do astrophotography so I know it wasn't Mars or any other stars.

Well, gang, thanks for your input! It's about 5:00 PM here, so before sunset, no bright dot in the sky, but in one or two hours it should show up again!

I saw it last night, bright and was moving away from me on the way home :) It was almost 30 minutes after the projected time but it was rated "very bright" and indeed it was...couldn't miss it. Outshining all the stars out there.

Now if I only had a good zoom lens...

Tonight is supposed to be even brighter.

We've had clear skies every night, and I see the dang thing, pretty much the same position and the same trajectory, same time of night, but don't have an identity for the dang thing!!

Something that might fit is a plane at altitude with the sun reflecting off a shiny surface. The sun may have set at ground level but it's still present up there. If you have a scheduled flight going overhead it would appear every night for a while and last for a few minutes. I've seen a similar thing here that had me scratching my head.
Maybe it's not the ISS but just UPS.

Maybe, but not at that consistent place, I don't think! Someone has said a planet, but I don't think so either, But I admit ignorance!!

A plane wouldn't be in view for 10 minutes. A satellite wouldn't be in the same place every night. My vote is planet. If you have a smart phone get one of the astronomy apps that lets you point the phone at the sky at it'll show you the objects in that direction.

I've got to agree with Lowner - there's nothing astronomical that would appear in the same place on several consecutive evenings and move that fast across the sky.

Any chance of a video showing movement in real-time?
