Heya,

That's a tropical orbweaver.

Very cool spider. Typically nocturnal, and some remove their webs during the day. If you find their web at night, or early morning, just follow the biggest strands and you'll probably find the orbweaver under a leaf or two in a little `house.' They tend to make a little shelter by sticking leaves together with a bit of web to stay out of sunlight. They spook easy and flee at any sign of trouble. They're not durable spiders (noted by their huge, squishy abdomen). Best time to catch them is early morning before they pack up for the day. Alternatively catch them at dusk, when they're creating their webs, they're too busy at that time doing it to really notice if you come up close (so long as you approach slowly).
