I got a real close look at the lens and noticed when I looked at a slight angle i saw where it looks like there may have been moisture inside the lens at one time, looks like a dirty window.
My question is should I attempt taking the lens apart OR should I send it off for cleaning. I would hate to have a jack in the box come out when I take the screws out of the lens.
Thanks

why bother...unless it's super dirty filled with fungus, i don't see the point...it's going to cost you half the cost of a brand new lens...and the majority of the time it probably won't show up in pictures...just keep using it...

also if you spend time looking at the inside of your lenses, you're using them wrong...tell me if you can see any moisture/dirtiness when they're mounted to the camera and you're looking thru the viewfinder...

No don't see anything looking through the view finder (wish my pictures came out as clear as the image in the finder) but most all my pictures come out blurry.
Looking through the lens held to the living room light, with my eye off center of the lens hole I see a dirty film, like dried condensation in side on the lens, I guess its like the film you would see (without cascade, lol) on clear drinking glasses after they are washed.

Could you post an example picture taken with the lens?
