Weather forecast for Monday morning was clear sunny weather for Central Scotland.

I had it planned, get out of bed at 6.30AM, and head out to Loch Achray on ther road to Aberfoyle in the Trossachs, I wanted to find an East to West running Loch to catch the sun coming up.

The good old British Met office had screwed up again, I hit Frozen Fog and temps of -5 C early into my journey, this dampened the spirits to the point where I began to argue with my Sat Nav as to which was the quickest way.

My only shot from Loch Achray was looking back from its banks to the Trossachs Church.

I packed up and decided to head to Aberfoyle for a bite to eat and a hot drink.
On route I spotted a wee bit of Blue sky so I parked up again.

I think I found the only sunny area for miles :D

For an hour or so it was beautiful, then the fog returned so I packed up and headed home.

I hope you enjoy the shots and wish someone would half the pain of my aching limbs ;) :)

Now,that was a complete disaster Scottie.
I was working in Glasgow and the day went from bad to...very very bad.
At one point you came in my head,i tought, that poor guy will be up from the crack of dawn and thats what he will get?
They never predicted the fog accuratelly, thats where all went wrong.

At least you came back with some...i would call them...at least extremelly good photos.:D :D

Did you use any kind of filters ? or the light was such that you didn`t need to.

That #4 is just stunning.;)

Those were the thoughts that entered my head Dimitri as I sat praying the Fog would lift from the Loch Dimitri :(

As I mentioned the good old British Met office must be full of Old Whisky drinkers, I'm still waiting on this really cold winter they predicted we'd get this year

Thanks :D Being up in the Hillside when the sun began to break through the thick fog was just amazing.:)

Nice work Scott, really like the last three images and the first - possibly check the levels on the church, you could possibly increase the blacks and the white's slightly to help the contrast.

Well, that 17-40 looks like a very good peace of glass,i can imagine what you will get with that and the filters on a cloudy day.
Awesome...;)

Thanks for the advice :)

I'm not quite up to speed with my post-processing, I hope along with my photography this will improve over time and practice.

Feel free to edit the image as I love to learn :)

The 17-40L certainly feels & behaves like a nice lens, hopefully with my new filters I'll be able to justify my need for such a nice piece of glass :)

On another subject, aren't the Bugs getting rather large around Scotland. ;)

If anyone happens to see "The Bug" parked around Scotland be sure to introduce yourself :D

Thanks to everyone who has posted, I guess there was some success from what started as a very bleak looking day :)

Jackie

Thanks for the compliments, the shot of the Church was the best I could get from what was a bit of a disasterous location.

I was about to "Spit the dummy" as they say and head home, If I had those other shots and many more simply wouldn't have existed.

I learnt a big lesson today about not giving up :)

Great shots Scottie. Beautiful country. I love to see the country side that you and Dimitri shot.
