I have the above or at least the G12 now and the Canon WP-DC34 housing leaked last year while in Cozumel. I had a previous case that leaked as well. My other cameras never had this issue. Personally I think it's due to the size of the G12 and the lens extension. A smaller camera or point and shoot has much less protuberance, the lens extension puts added on the hinges. Oh yeah, yes I take care of the housing. I pull the O-ring after each day of diving, clean and re-lube.

Anyway seeking ideas for another housing. Any tried and true options out there.

Dennis

My Sandisk memory card was fine to. I rinsed it off in fresh water, let it dry for a day and I am still using that card.

I am selling my sealife DC500 that I bought new several years ago. it's been rock solid, and I've never taken the o-ring out or cleaned it. the only trouble I had with the whole setup was the battery case inside the flash disintegrated after a while. it was a common problem and I bought the updated battery case for like $10 or whatever and bam. good as new. not nearly as good a performer as a Gseries, but I've managed some really good photos with it even so.

Thank you, but I am very satisfied with the G12 underwater performance and I am comfortable with it, not to mention a few thousand pics comfortable with it. I think I will rent an Ikelite housing for it annually. I have found a few places that do that.
