I assume horse racing counts as a sport right? Looking for feedback on the treatment I gave this image. Personally I loved the filter as I found it put emphasis on the horse in the lead and also gave a sort of "tribute" to the history of horse racing.

I am wondering if others find it cheesy or distracting however:

It's really quite simple...edited the image for color and then applied a graduated filter in lightroom removing all saturation from the image. I suppose you could also make a B&W edit and a color edit and then layer them and blend with a mask. Might try that to see which method works better.

I initially played with an additional graduated filter going to filter out the area above the lead horse...but felt that wasn't necessary and might have pushed the effect a bit far.

The only thing that really was up for debate was how quickly to change the image from color to B&W. I decided to make it fairly slow because I liked in the "in between" section where the rider is partially desaturated and made the effect less "in your face"

Thanks for your comment
