Have a look at this (external link), and you'll see why the competitors beware! :)

I'm pre-ordering this.

In all fairness, they're wrong. The new APS-C won't have a swivel screen, and they'll call it the 7D MKII instead of the 75D, that way people might still buy it. All the other specs seem pretty accurate :p

Or they could bring out the 750D first, same as the 70D, but smaller and with 9 AF points.

I wouldn't be surprised if Canon actually did this.

Interesting that I don't see any mention of new sensor technology! That's whats holding Canon back right now, being behind Nikon in the basics, never mind the cheap add-ons.

I don't mean to spoil it for anyone, but that article is a spoof.

He forgot to mention that there will be a special limited-edition model which will be sold only to loyal Canon veterans, for a small additional cost. It will be white with a red ring around the prism housing. To be called the 75DL. No longer will you have to suffer the embarrassment of body and lens in conflicting colors. No other camera maker has the same depth of concern for the poor working pro or the rich amateur wannabe.

Hilarious!

The "75D" sounds amazing , but if they could just add a built-in drink dispenser (with some delicious Canon Kool-Aid), it would be a huge seller. We don't need no stinking sensor improvements; just give us some Canon Kool-Aid!

What do you mean? They now have a undulating AA filter. Don't we all want AA filters that can undulate?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

How can anybody read that and think that it's real...

I guess when it's this easy to take the mickey and there's that many points to make fun of, you have to start asking questions about whether Canon is the right system to be on. There are plenty of firms gone by the wayside for favouring drawn-out incremental-update strategies with locked in customer bases. Microsoft are one, Apple won't be too far behind, and Canon appear to be doing the same.

"game-changing DSLR model that incorporates our future-proof sensor architecture, introduced in 2009"

"Canon has out-innovated them with the much larger APS-C EOS 75D, that allows you to turn regular photos of your cats and children into priceless works of art"

"The 75D provides 25 creative filters, including the new “Catify” filter that makes images of any small child become photos of a cat."

"Also available will be a new Battery Grip BG-E15 that is only compatible with this model and conveniently accepts up to two brand new battery paks that are the same in every way to our other battery paks, but won’t fit in our other bodies"

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Magic Lantern already has a hack that makes the AA filter both undulate and ovulate.

Ovulate? We don't want the AA filter having babies! We want it to disapparate!
