Here's my pride and Joy

A 210 BHP tuned VW New Beetle.

I use him to get me from A to B very quickly when I'm out driving the twisty roads that are the Scottish Countryside

I like #1, though I would crop away the sky to just above the tree ...

Yeah I know what you mean, I had a play around with the image and have used the crop you mentioned in the NB owners forum.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the comments Buddy :)

The Haze was actually Freezing fog clearing up from the hillside in the background.

See my shots on this thread which explains the type of day it was

Pic 2 wouldve been AWESOME(IMO) if you couldve gotten the car to be completely perpendicular to where you were standing and if it just fit between those posts...Cool anyway! #1 is nice too!

nice pics, but wouldn't a beetle be more of a *her* instead of a *him*?

Awesome pics!
I'm glad someone shares the same idea as me. Everyone laughs at me when I say I'm going to get a beetle and tune it.

Thanks Scottie I tried my best to get what you described in the 2nd shot, unfortunately I couldn't get low enough as the pathway was on a steep slope.

Thanks Radal His name is Biffa :) My 1st Bug was Bella, Just a bit of fun between my friends and fellow owners, as far as I know wasn't the origional Bug "Herbie" of the male variety.

Thanks Spaceguy Go for it Buddy, the 1.8 Turbo is the engine you'll want, it's 170 BHP standard over the pond if I'm correct, the engine is detuned and with a Remap of the ECU you can achieve figures of 210-230 BHP easily.

You should visit www.newbeetle.org (external link) & www.newbeetle.org.uk (external link) for some awesome looking Bugs and proud owners :)

Lovely shots. I too would like to have seen the Bug completely in view between the posts. I think this is a shot where breaking traditional rules works (normally the dead-center positioning of a subject is un-nerving to the eye, but here I think it works because of the posts framing the car, the layered background, and the fact that the scene is divided into horizontal thirds (not including the car))

Thanks for the input Alan, I appreciate you spending the time to look over the shot in more detail, you seem to know a lot about composition, I'm still learning daily from others work and my own idea's :)

It's just my opinion- that's what I love about photography, there's almost always a difference of opinion and emotion. There are always good points and always areas for improvement. In my shots, usually there's lots of room for imrpovement.;) I love photography, taking shot, looking at works by both professional and amature, and reading.
