for the last two days, what I think is a Swainson's Hawk(?) has beem roaming the skies here. I think he may have clipped a stellar jay's wing, as I have one here that is missing the ends of his wing. But the most unusual was the Pileated. The hawk went directly for it two days ago.I was stunned, so I clapped my hands loudly as the hawk was overtop of the woodpecker, and it veered off and away.
Yesterday was another thing. Again, the hawk was above the treeline, and the Pileated spotted it quickly, as did I , lol.and you can see his beak is open, but no sound emmited. So I ,like a fool calling a dog, said" Come'on! Get to the Suet!:o And this is what ensued.
