Hey,

Im looking to purchase a second 5DmkIII and thinking about holding off for a special on black friday or Christmas. .. is it worth the wait or do you think the price of $2600 is something that will not be beat any time soon?

After last thanksgiving this is the lowest price that I have seen so if I was looking I would just buy now. In case price drops lot more, talk to them and see if they give you some money back. Bigger vendors like B&H, Amazon are good on that.

Too many folks after that body, so if you see a good deal within your price range, I suggest you buy or be blazing fast to get the refurbished unit.

Here's a quote from Canon Pricewatch.

"...Generally the prices (after rebate) are some of the lowest we’ve ever seen in the years that we’ve been running this site, and we don’t expect to see any discounts beyond this..."

+1 to both of them; if there is it'll prob be only within the price range of $50-100. Granted its a lot but I would rather just enjoy the feeling of having it right now; it's too stressful. Just get it now and enjoy it :)

You should provide a link to your "for sale" item in you signature, so we can just click on it.

Kinda like gambling.....Your either all in or bide your time. My suggestion like others have said is buy it when you feel comfortable with the price.

If you buy it now, that's more time you get to use it and learn it before Christmas morning when you could actually be using it confidently, and not sitting in the chair playing with it while others get mad because your not "In the spirit".. :)

Black Friday is always just consumer level stuff. I bet some good Rebel or Mirrorless deals, but certainly not more than the standard rebate deals on L lenses and FF cameras.

I wouldnt think a 5DIII would be a black friday item. Most big box stores don't even carry them...

From what I remember for at least the last few years. The only good deal on Black Friday for Canon gear was $1999 for a 5D Mark II in 2011. (It was considered a good deal back then.) Otherwise, you can always find a better deal every now and then somewhere.

Bottom line is, if you think you find a good deal, grab it. Don't get too greedy and expect it to be lower on Black Friday.

There are plenty for sale very slightly used for $2600ish. Just cash in on someone else's buyer's remorse. If I hadn't sold my 6d this morning, I'd be offering up my 5d3 to y'all. Now I have that AF system to figure out...
