Vantage point for Vegas strip cityscape?

I'll be headed to Vegas in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a good vantage point to get some unobstructed images of the strip? I'm thinking parking garage roofs, publicly accessible balcony's, things like that.

Helicoptor rides are not expensive and offer a good view. Top of the Stratosphere Tower is very good

Can you shoot outside at the Stratosphere?

I should have mentioned, I'm looking do some long exposure shots with a tripod at dusk, so shooting through glass or from a helicopter are out.

For long exposure shots there really aren't that many. The top of the "Eiffel Tower" would be a shot, but I don't know if tripods are allowed up there. That said you're missing about a third of the strip behind you if you're looking north.

Getting the entire strip in one shot would be difficult as there's a bend in the middle of it. It's not a perfectly straight street.

Search for posts from a POTN member named sydor25. He has many many cityscape shots from among others, various strip vantage points. Just absolutely fantastic quality with a 10-22 on a 5D3.

That's taken from Cosmopolitan, next door, and it would be from a suite balcony. We did a wedding on a balcony on the top floor a couple of months ago, and that's the view you get.

It's def the best spot on the strip to capture images of.

Oh, one more tip for the OP.

There are skyway bridges that cross the road in various places, you can see them from google maps overhead view in satellite. They have clear plexi/glass walls, and you can theoretically shoot from one. We've done it. It worked well. They cross the strip and you can stop in the middle, set up your tripod and get something pretty good I would imagine.

Mix Lounge on the 64th floor of Mandalay Bay. You'll need to wear some nice clothing.

There's a lot on the south end of the airport that was mostly meant for plane spotting. However, it's far enough out to get most of the Strip in view. There's just the small problem of the fence that goes around the airport. There could be some other public lots near by that may be helpful.

I know I'm off topic now, but for anyone into plane spotting, this is a good place for it though. It's right along runway 7R/25L, and they broadcast the ATC on a public radio frequency you can pick up in your car.

Yes there is an indoor observation deck and the floor above it is an outdoor observation deck. The wife and I stayed at the Stratosphere back in 2009.
