Was shooting pets.
The battery was near dead, on the last bar. Shortly after this it started flashing so I'm wondering if it's just due to battery but unsure.

I've had it for a year. Never had any problems with it, and it was working normally until this.

I was taking a picture and the camera just locked up. The red light came on by the lock button and I had to turn the camera off. I didn't even check to see if it wrote the picture.

It was NOT in live view mode. I did a short research and read this happens in live view but mine was not.

What's wrong? Should I be worried?

Thanks in advance.

Normal battery behavior. You just used it to exhaustion. Charge it up and you're good to go.

The reason this behavior is often associated with Live View is the amount of power the LCD requires, as opposed to looking through the viewfinder.
