Replacing jpeg files with raw files by batch

Hey folks,
got a problem.


I switched to Daminion Server as my Database.

Earlier I had all my RAW files in a seperate folder. THe converted version had been stored with the iphone and compact camera pictures.

Since I moved to Daminion Server, which can present all the files correctly and convert them, there is no need anymore to keep the converted jpeg files. Is there a tool finding me all raw files that are 100% the same with jpeg files and than replaces the jpeg files with the raw files?

Do the JPEG files ALL have identical file names as the RAW files bar the extension? If they do there are several different programs out there that can compare the contents of two folders to show both identical files including bitwise checks to see if they are truly identical and files with the same name and different extension.

If you need to compare the actual images from each file then no I don't think there is anything that can compare the contents of two different images files, in different formats in an image recognition sense. I guess you really need CSI for that!

@BigAI007, thanks for your answere. sadly the files do not have the same name since there where some files from other cameras imported as well.

So I need a 100% (bit by Bit) comparision of each picture on my hard drive

I'm not familiar with your database server. I know Lightroom has various options for sorting and organizing photos that could help, but then we pay money for those options!

Jpeg files are small, and RAW files may not always be readable. Suggest you keep the jpeg.
