My Kayak gets to locations most boats can't. It also allows better access to wildlife.

Knife, light, gaffa tape, cable ties.
Also - my IPhone, not as a camera, but as a map, satellite view, compass, sunrise/set calculator, note taker, voice recorder and wireless hotspot for my laptop

I always keep a couple 99 cent disposable rain ponchos in my bag, just in case. I have a dryzone 200
so the equipment stays dry, but it's nice if I can stay dry too, in an afternoon rain shower.

I also keep a small bottle of pain killers and a package of water proof matches, and a couple
granola bars.

leatherman squirt PS4
5 feet of gaffer tape
2 microfiber cloths in separate ziplock bags
10 zeiss lens wipes (great for cleaning off sea spray)
a couple of allen keys for my tripod
a coin for tripod plates
a couple of large garbage bags (i use them as disposable rain ponchos)
a small first aid kit (hand sanitizer a few plasters and some latex gloves)
a small keychain led light
a small 1 AAA flashlight
a powerful 3xAA CREE headlamp

i guess there are some other stuff in some of the smaller pockets of my backpack, i dont even remember are there

i'm a landscape photographer by the way

I have my Led Lenser P7 torch and a few other items.

iphone, for apps like TPE and found photography I'd otherwise not take, since I don't always carry my cameras with me.

For the big boys, sling strap, grip for in studio work, polarizer, lens baby collection
