Out for a drive yesterday and this fellow ran across the road in front of me. I managed to get stopped and get out with my camera and get some quick shots of him before he disappeared. He was very skittish and not willing to come out so that I could get a clear shot of him and in my attempts to maneuver around for a clear shot managed to completely scare him off. They are such pretty birds.

Oh! So you did see me.

Great shots! Super sharp and the colors are wonderful. We have a ton of pheasants around here but I always have a helluva time trying to get close enough to get decent shots.

Total rookie looking to learn, I welcome all C+C.

Thanks all for the kind words.

I would have preferred him not to be backlit but you "takes what you get". I was happy to get any usable shots of him at all a I had a difficult time achieving focus through the branches and grass.
