And yes, I am downloading the 345 MB 18000x18000 version as we speak...

Edit: OK, so 18000x18000 is only 324 megapixels... Who's doing the math?

Now I have to find a place to print it at 60x60.... My wife is going to kill me. This one stays in the office I guess.

It's not a 3 "layer" sensor like the Sigma by any chance?
Just seems logical - 324 megapixels would be very close to one third of 1 Gigapixel....

It took Acdsee about 2 seconds to open the image (full sized jpeg) on an old Athlon XP1700 with 512 pf ram and a Matrox 16MB AGP card... in "fit to screen" mode...

When I clicked "zoom to actual size" .. things got interesting.. 97 seconds later and all other apps frozen solid during that time,. I have it fianlly open in full res. Wow.

Nasa must need a push broom sized pec pad to clean that sensor :) :) :)

Hmmm, where to get a big print on Kodak Metallic... Ouch, first find is $82 for about 30x30. Gotta keep looking...

Hmmm... Chromira on Kodak Metallic 30x40 only $51. And Chromira 8x10s on Fuji paper for only $4.64! That's pretty darn cheap for Chromira! http://www.vipphotolab.com/digital.htm (external link) (Note that I know nothing else about them....)
