OK, ok. Im just about open my wallet, and ready to buy (in a month or 2) Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Mirage Edition printer.

But my main question is, just to play safe for starter, what kind of a papers I should buy?
http://www.telefoto.fi …imiin/epson/arkkipaperit/ (external link)

I mainly do portrait photography, lets say 90% them are in color.
Also ofcourse love the nature and landscape photography too.

Which photos you would print on matte, luster or glossy etc etc?

I want good quality, but like I said, I wanna play safe for start. So not much changing matte-glossy-matte and loose ink for cleaning.

Thanks,
Ilkka

That is a very subjective decision.
Buy sample packs and see which you like for different types of images.

As for swapping Matte to PhotoK that just takes some planning when printing.

Just got it yesterday, but long day at work, and then party in the evening.
So got it running this afternoon, and this is just stunning. Simply unbelieveble.

As far only Epson´s own Premium SemiGloss paper for testing.
Havent open yet Canson´s or Ilford´s packets :)

As David mentions, this is such an individual preference.

Cost wise, Epson has their sale till end of the month. You can pick up Epson Exhibition Fiber, Hot Press, Cold Press papers in letter size and 13x19 with a 25% rebate.

My personal favorite is Canson Baryta Photographique 17x22 sheets. B&H has them for about $86 plus tax, shipping

Actually, I have also that Canson Baryta and I love it :)

Sadly I think those Epson discounts dont help me, cos im in Finland, Europe.

One quick help needed. When I choose sort of other paper brand. I do have all ICC Profiles already, but where I can find the list (forexample Canson & Ilford) that which media type I use?

Edit: Find them :)

For Canson, here are the media settings and icc profiles for 3880:
