Trust Gary to find some good reasons...

Supposedly, the dome is needed only for outdoor fill-in. I'm very happy with mine. My web site: http://kaitcilla.smugmug.com/

The thought is that the translucent plastic will soften the light more. I saw Gary shoot with it last night, the images looked nice. I was planning to pick up a LS PJ2 with a dome to replace my tiny lumiquest diffuser. I will post some pics when I get a chance to play with it.

Over my left shoulder again:
I had no add-ons stuck to my flash unit for any of these shots, and the flash was the primary light source. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

Do we slam on them for being "Profiteers" 60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

I tend to agree with you, and your photos demonstrate it well.
