I've been volunteered to do an informal photobooth at an upcoming carnival type event (indoors). It is to help out someone and not paid, but obvious I'd like to do something decent. I'm not looking to spend a lot. I have a 5dMkiii and flash and tripod. The facility has some softboxes and umbrellas but I'm not sure type or number. They're providing the backdrop.

I know my way around the camera but am pretty inexperienced with the flash.

Can someone give me a quick DIY suggestion on the photobooth? Should I use the umbrellas/boxes with the flash? Should I build bookend type thing like the Adorama guy shows here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLkHWtdPhis (external link) )? Other ideas?

Main priorities are simple & cheap.
