I like these kinds of "feel good" stories. Glad it worked out. There isn't much worse than lost data - especially pictures.

Thanks - seems to have been a corrupt DVD. Probably will check all my backups again!!

Do you test your disc burns after they are burned to make sure it was successful? Very important!

nice to hear you got your data back, many do not. When I burn/backup my photo's, before deleting the originals off of the hard drive, I test the burned media. In two computers. Mine and my kids pc. Only when I'm sure I can read it, then I'll make disk space deleting them.

Burners are more likely to able to read burned media than just readers. Buy quality blanks (I stick to and love Verbatim) for everything.

While you could find arguements about it, Plextor drives have been so relible it's all I'll ever buy. My 4-5 year old 12/10/24 Plextor drive is still here and has never made a coaster.
When I got DVD burner, also Plextor, never a coaster, or trouble reading them.
