Is there a battery pack that will allow me to plug either a regular strobe or a speedlite (via a regular battery pack Canon cable)?

Well if you have Cheetah lights, their battery packs have Canon speedlight cables.

There also is the Dynalite Jackrabbit.

  • Compatible with the Dyna-Lite Uni 400JRg monolight, supplying it with 175 full-power (320 w/s) flashes per charge without using AC power.
  • Adapter cables are available for many other manufacturers' flashes, such as Nikon, Canon, Metz, Minolta, Sunpak and Vivitar.
