Perhaps a silly question, but does BH Photo or Adorama tend to have a Black Friday Sale? Reason I ask is that I'll be I'm looking for a new lens (24-70L II or 85 L II), both are quite expensive, so any other discount will help...

A shame I missed the $1,699 offer last month!

Thanks

Usually the only sale you'll get is with a rebate. Otherwise, its full price. And no specific item will be on for sale. You just have to catch it at the right time.

Canon rarely has Black Friday sales, except on Rebels and other lower end items. Definitely not on L-lenses.

Hey Nortonski, go to greentoe and offer 1999$ for the canon 24-70 II, I think Adorama still has that price and then you get the 300$ rebate from canon. Also if you're a new custom at greentoe, anything over 1000$ you spend, they'll give you a 100 cash back. So basically you're paying only 1599$. I bought my lens just last week Monday and will receive my lens this coming Monday for 1999$ before the rebate. I hope that helped! Also talk with Andrew from greentoe, he'll get you a good offer for 1999$ on the 24-70 II lens.

1999$ price
-300$ canon rebate (which expires in Jan2014)
-100$ cash back from greentoe through paypal
1599$.

If I were Canon I wouldn't either, demand on most L lenses is still pretty strong so why cut prices on a reasonably predictable basis?

We most certainly do! Sign up at the bottom right of any web page to get the special offer emails and / or follow Adorama on Twitter

Look at canon price watch. Black Friday is happening every other day IMHO. Just have to be quick. 24-70mm f2.8 II for $1500 after rebate and CB. 85L refurb for $1400 something. Where else you going to find these prices. Only problem is having enough money to buy all this stuff.:)
