I have been using Damion home server for a while now it is definitely fast, the feature set is good and improving all the time and the customer support is first rate which can not be said of many software companies I have encountered recently.

Hey, I've never heard of dominion, and I'm not in the habit of grabbing/installing a bunch of alternative apps, no big deal, it's nice to hear that people are getting good results!

hi
you know i miss a software like ivew
do you use lightroom to organize your photos
for years i was looking for program to organize my photos
and i found photo supreme ,for me now the best

daminion is good , but i'm just a bit suspicious because it's free

in the past i installed a free program ,after 1 year the program warns me the filetime is over , updagrade to full version

I do use Lightroom, I jumped on it in its early days when Digital Asset Management (DAM) was being talked about but comprehensive "packages" were too slim and Lightroom offered and still offers a great combined package!

Damion is not totally free it depends upon how you use it and how many images you have. The free standalone version allows you to catalogue 15000 images, the prices are then $20 for a catalogue of 25000 images $50 for a catalogue of 75000 images and $99 for a catalogue of unlimited size. There are also three server versions a home edition starting at $99 for two concurrent connections, a pro version at $199 with one concurrent connection licensed for commercial use and a small team version starting at $999 dependant upon the number of concurrent connections you need. There is also a yearly maintenance fee if you want to continue to receive updates past the first year but the cost of this is not totally clear at present apart from the small team version, I assume his is as the product has only just been released but is likely to be reasonable.

It looks like they are planning to make most of their money from the server versions so unless your image collection exceeds 15000 images it is free and if you need to pay the price structure is clear. Although Daminion is a new product the company behind it PicaJet is not and has been around a few years. To date they have shown a very positive attitude towards their user base and I was happy to pay for the home server license as Lightroom was becoming increasingly slow with my catalogue and having also owned photo supreme I felt dominion was much better, in many ways it is closer to IDImager the for runner of photo supreme and my long time favourite DAM application. Additionally the way Daminion writes metadata it should be easy to transport your images to another program at a later date if you feel a need to change.

both , and it's amazing powerfull
but the lightroom develop module is better because it's the acr engine(now almost the standard ,the more used)
photo supreme is 64 and 32 and mac version ,it does miss lens correction
but photo supreme + photoshop is better then lightroom

by the way photo supreme is a clean software , i mean it's enough to add -portable to make it full portable no registry no files , in case of installation the uninstall clean everything

i suggest to give a try

To be clear if we are talking about processing RAW and Jpg files and Daminion, Daminion is a piece of DAM software so it will replace the cataloguing side of Lightroom but not the RAW processing side. If you want to process RAW or Jpg images you need separate tools for this.

Ah, OK, so two different apps are being discussed, Photo Extreme for Raw processing, and then Daminion for image management?
