I currently use the yn622 with speed lights for HSS. I've read a lot but a bit confused about this option going with the CL180. Am I correct in thinking I can use this option for HSS as well. The only difference being I have to manually adjust output levels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes,
The YN-622 is attached to the CL-180 via the PC plug. You will probably want to put them in a separate group although that's not essential.

Place the CL-180 in H mode or at full power in M mode. In H mode you can remotely control power from full to 1/8th.

There is quite a bit of information in the Bare Bulb thread here as well as in Clive's handbook on the YN-622 available via his signature. Check the YN-622 thread.

Hi...I am going to invade this thread because we have a lot in common....I just got the Cheetah 180 and also have two 600rt's...I have been using the rt's as fill flash on camera via ttl and triggering the 180 with my old photix stratos triggers which allow you to mount the on camera flash in normal operation. The system works great and I actually do 3 light commercial shoots like this...on camera fill (ttl)...kicker light (600 rt on manual) and the Cheetak
with an umbrella as key light. The one thing I was missing was the ability to do HSS with the 180 outside..so I invested in 2 Yongnuo 622c triggers. I was able to get hss from the cheetah, but it really did not give me any signifcant power gain in HSS...plus my 600 rt's won't play well with ...I lose the ttl adjustment...just does not work.

Still trying to figure this out...probably will have to wait until the Yongnuo rt's are available.

@echelonphoto, Quick question on TTL fill, if the CL180 as the main, not sure how the pre-flash calculate and take that CL180 light into account. Would you explain a little please? really appreciate it.
