Haha.. Thanks. It was an incidental capture. OMW to work, driving out of my neighborhood, thought I might get something interesting with the fog and the sunrise and came across the intersection and there it was.

Glad you like it. Good to know that I'm not the only one that saw something special from that moment in time. :)

A few things:
- embrace the F1.2 blur / bokeh it is very unique
- MFA your lens and camera together to try and nail critical focus exactly
- F1.2 is never going to be 'tack' sharp it just doesn't quite get there compared to F1.4 where you will see it
- i think this lens, F1.4 to F2 is incredible for B&W street photography

enjoy

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

This was my one of my first images from my 50L, right out of the camera, no pp. I was pretty impressed from the get-go.

I second this advice. Also, I assume you've read up on the "notorious" focus shift. I've never considered it a problem in my own experience, but you might want to play around with various scenarios until you're comfortable with it.

Amazing - first time I've ever seen the 50L's chromatic aberration being used to great effect!!
