I would be ok with setting up a computer and tethering it to a rebel or something.. I use my 5d and 7d too often to use them. my gear Canon 7D, Canon 5DMK2, 70-200 f2.8 IS, 50mm f1.8, canon 430 speedlight, canon 17-55 2.8 IS, canon 100mm macro sigma 10-20, Canon 17-85 , 60 cokin filters , 2x telecoverter.

I would like to simply compare it with a log of pictures. Something like the amount of snow on the ground would work, but sunshine vs. rain depends on the time that you shoot on a particular day. So I could go back ans see on oct 1 or whatever date what it looked like on that date . Or maybe do a time lapse with a years worth of pics..?? Check out the software used on wunderground.com for their weather cams. It updates with a still shot every few minutes. You can set the time of day it takes the thumbnail shot. Has a nice calendar interface so you can go back, look at the weather, even watch a timelapse of any day. Peace! Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength - E. Hoffer

You could just capture an image from one of those. Probably won't be high res but it's fairly easy to set up if you have a computer that's always on during the specified time.

Magnus3D Goldmember More info | Nov 05, 2013 11:21 | #12 Just get a cheap webcam from any store anywhere for pocketchange, rig it, connect it to a cheap old PC to shoot pics at certain times each day and you're done. Don't waste exposures with a real DSLR. | Lots of cheap camera gear |
