The subject is looking at the veggies...but they are blurry. Try a smaller aperture. That'll also be more forgiving if you slightly miss focus. The eyes in #2 look fake.

I am always afraid to do that, so I wanted to get over it. I definitely missed focus on the second one. also, what do you mean by the eyes look fake? I think I dodged them slightly, but that's about it.
