Adorable child. Images look very soft to me though.

Both seem slightly out of focus (possible camera movement). Why such shallow with depth of field? The subject is looking at the veggies...but they are blurry. Try a smaller aperture. That'll also be more forgiving if you slightly miss focus. The eyes in #2 look fake.

oh I decided that I was going to shoot everything wide open for the whole day. I am always afraid to do that, so I wanted to get over it. I definitely missed focus on the second one. also, what do you mean by the eyes look fake? I think I dodged them slightly, but that's about it.

I'd have to agree with the others. A bit more depth of field is needed.

Also, in the first image, the bright sky is distracting. Try to get a background in the frame that is less brought than your subject.

Regarding the tilt, did you do that consciously? I'm hesitant to use tilt in my shoots unless I am trying to convey a lot of motion or disorientation.

The constructive critcisms I would have made here have already been mentioned.
Unlike what Frugivore says, I like how you've tilted the first and find the out of focus spots pleasing. And second would have benefitted from a greater DOF.
