Hello all, I got my S400 about a month ago and am very happy with the photos it produces. I have only one nitch. For some reason, if I take a pic and then want to take another one immediately after the first, I never get a focus lock and I can hold the shutter all the way down for a few seconds and it doesnt take the pic. If I release the shutter button and wait a second and then half press it works fine. Only when I want to take a pic 1 second apart it doesnt work. What I am doing is this, just to clarify. I take a pic by half pressing, getting a focus lock and then continue to press all the way to take the pic. Immediately I release the shutter button and try to do a half press to get another focus lock. The second time never works. I have to release shutter and wait a second before half pressing again. I hope everyone reading this understand the point I am trying to make. If anyone else has this problem or doesnt, I would love to hear your feedback. Thank you

The camera maybe waiting for the flash to charge. I have had similar issues with the S45 when the batteries are weaker and the shot needs flash. Try to replicate the problem with the flash turned off and batteries fully charged.

If you are shooting in the manual mode then maybe turn the AiAf off so that the focusing does not take as long. So instead of trying to focus in 9 different places it will only focus on one place. It is in the menu button.
