Didn't get any replies in the Accessories section, thought I would try here:

How does the B&W XS Pro Kaseman CPL filter compare to the Slim MRC or the discontinued Kaseman Slim MRC F-Pro as far as Vignetting goes ?

I'm looking to use it on a 10-22 and it looks like the XS Pro is the way to go since it has front threads to accepts a lens cap but just want to be sure it's still slim enough to not get in the way.

Well, you really don't need a slim filter on the 10-22mm. A regular B+W filter is slim enough, won't vignette at all. I have been using both B+W MRC F-Pro and Kaesemann without any problems. So, unless you want the improved "Nano" coatings of the XS Pro CPL, I'd save some money.

That's interesting, I always thought that you needed a slim mount for the ultra wides.

I often stack a ND with a CPL on my 17-50 set up but I figured stacking would be out with the 10-22. So what are the chances I would be able to get away with stacking a thin CPL and a ND filter ? I don't think they make a thin ND filter.

Will you need to step up on a 10-22 to avoid vignetting? Or buy the b+w extra wide polarizer
I read somewhere that people don't recommend using a polarizer on the 21mm zeiss due to uneven light in the sky.

I use a non slim 86mm b+W KSM MRC polarizer on my 24-105 and it's great... with a uv filter it vignettes.
I have nano UV filters and regular MRC Filters and honestly I can't tell the difference.

Two regular filters just vignette at 10-12mm. The problem with ND and CPL filters is that they are usually a bit thicker (especially the 8-10 stop ones) than UV filters, so even with a slim CPL, you probably won't be able to stack them at 10mm.

Thus, slim CPL will allow you to go wider than a regular one when stacked with an ND so you stack them 'often', then I guess the slim will be beneficial. You'll still be able to go fairly wide with an ND and regular CPL, but I don't remember how wide though. I'd have to check, but I'm guessing in the 12-14mm range. If 14mm, it may not be enough over the 17-50.

I'll mainly be shooting waterfalls with this set up and I only add a 3 stop ND for brighter conditions. I'm thinking it's worth me going to a slimmer filter if allows me to stack and get 12-14mm out of it. Most of my waterfalls are surrounded by trees and dark areas so a little vignetting would probably go unnoticed and if some does show up it can always be dealt with in post.

Thanks for the input everyone
