Quite obvious the clear winner from this Youtube.

What is interesting is the little difference (or non) between the Extreme and Extreme Pro SD cards. Opportunity to save some $$$. :)

Not too sure how CF/SC cards will affect HD video.

If somebody is going to post on this topic you'd think they'd know the difference between millibits per second (mb/s - as in the title), megabits per second (Mb/s - as used in the commentary) and megabytes per second (MB/s - what he was actually quoting, although he obviously didn't know that).

That's just showing the limitation in the camera's write speed.

Almost certainly not at all. HD video is highly undemanding - about 6MB/s will suffice.

The camera maxes out at about 20 MB/s on the SD slot, other cameras can be faster or slower.

The XX MB/s rating on most cards is the max read speed, write speeds are often quite slower. Sometimes a card that's rated to be slower will clear buffer because it has a faster write speed than the faster rated card, like the Lexar 600x and 800x CF cards as an example.

Write speeds are what's important to most photographers as they may want to clear the buffer as fast as possible, so important to see what a cards write speeds are and if you're using SD cards to know what your camera's max write speeds so you don't waste money(assuming you don't get another body that can take advantage of the faster card) on a faster that won't be any faster.

Yeah, the only reason to spend on these 94-95Mb/s cards then is saving time when downloading on your computer (provided you have a 3.0 USB and 3.0 reader). It makes it so much faster :)

That video is misleading if you are watching it to determine write speeds/performance of different cards. It is informative if you are trying to decide which cards to use in a Canon 5D mk III.
