No, not a baby rattle toy.:p

Bought a video camera (Vixia HF M50) from Canon at a refurbished price. I have 14 days to return if not happy. Received it yesterday, removed from box and heard a rattle. Searched carefully for a loose part on the exterior and saw nothing. The rattle is inside. Decided to send it back. Called Canon to tell them and they said the rattle is normal due to the image stabilizer system. I'm thinking "bull".

Anyone have this camera or similar with a "normal" rattle?

Thanks

Canon DSLR's rattle, it's to do with the orientation detection, but not sure why a video camera would have this.

When the camera is off, it's disengaged and free floating - therefore the "rattle" if shook.

I have a similar camcorder and it rattles too. It's the lens cap that's rattling I believe.

It's definitely not the lens cap.

Called a friend with the same camera, it rattles also. Tried it out, it works great. Gonna assume it's normal and stay with it.

Thank you

ALL camcorders rattle these days. It is the detection of orientation as stated above. I thought I had broken mine too, as mine seemed to rattle more after a while, but video quality and general performance has never diminished.
