Hoping to join this crowd soon as I'm solely a landscape shooter and the A7R may be a better option than my 6D. Any one foresee any comparability issues with my lenses? I was trying to avoid dropping $400 on a Metabones adapter but that seems to be the best option. I'm not concerned about AF since my 70-200 doesn't get much use and when it does, MF is just fine. But I do want electronic aperture, etc, and exif for LR lens profiles.

No trouble with Metabone Mark III. So far works with all my Canon EF lenses.

ask all those professional shooters at sports events and concerts as well as red carpets, more white lenses than black noinks

:lol::lol::lol:

Pros don't buy these lenses (I mean Super-tele lens). Nikon and Canon's pro support programs loan them out for free at sporting events hoping TV viewers see more black or white to influence consumers..........- LIKE YOU! :lol:

I'm not a pro but even I prefer the lens that's most popular...which is why all those white lenses are at sports events I'm sure. :D

I don't usually follow the trend. I have a good smattering of lenses from different manufactures. All produce images that are fantastic.

My Canon month Zeiss exit show up in LR5; All Canon lenses only show the focus Leigh without rest of the lens' info. Aperture change with Metabones / Canon / Zeiss combo work perfect.

Good luck!

The Canon user needs to stop being so defensive. Its just a darn camera and they both have strength and weakness. Give me an Sony Exeview sensor in a Canon body and it would be a match made in heaven.

I used to hate EVF but than I got to play with one. Focus peaking is an amazing tool for manual focuser. If you use Tilt-Shift lens, it makes the job 10x easier to focus when tilted.

Perfect!

Another question for anyone that has tried, does the live view still work when a 10-stop filter is attached? I like how I can still focus/compose in live-view on my 6D and I'm hoping that ability will transfer over to the Sony as well.

you can still compose through the evf or main LCD with a 10 stop filter. you will need to change a setting to not simulate exposure however but if you are using a manual lens in a dark situation you should already have it set that way anyway.

The good news are that Live view is working with 10-Stopper;
The bad news are that Sony a7R LED brightness of Live View doesn't change with under / over exposure as my 5D3.

Sorry for taking so long to reply; long working day after Easter.

Meh, no huge loss if it doesn't offer exposure simulation as having the ability to check focus and compose should be enough! I have the camera on order and I can't wait to test it out.

Totally agree.

Now tell me which FF canon can sync flash at 1/250th??? Yep, and I don't have that kind of money...

But I can scrape enough money to afford the A7 with the metabones. Nuff said. I'm not into landscapes and don't need the extra mp.

I'd rather have a 6D than could do 1/250 sync and have all cross focus points.. and be same price point.. but I doubt that is even in the sky at canon corp. So I'll go where I CAN get what I need. It is an awesome little camera.

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.
