I was pretty set on getting the Fuji xt1 but after seeing this thread and learning that you can use canon lenses WITH AF and IS on an A7 I am very confused about my decision now... haha.

I came over to the A7 from a Fuji X-E2. The X-e2 was a great camera but the A7 is better in every way.

Your pics are stunning! Are the ones of the couple above with the 55mm?

I sold a xt1 for the a7r. A7r trumps it in pretty much every aspect IMO. The limiting factor with the sony is the lack of native lenses, fast primes in particular, but if you don't need fast AF then adapted lenses are great

I am a hobbyist for the most part but do a wedding or two a year from friends and family. The reason I am looking to move is to switch to a smaller.lighter system. I leave my 5D3 at home all the time because of the bulk.

I just bought a 5d3 this week to compliment the a7r so think I'm going in the opposite direction :)

Thank you very much! Yeah the pictures I posted were from the Zeiss 55 fantastically sharp lens.

On another note just picked up a FL mount 55mm f/1.2 in the marketplace on here today. Can't wait to get it shipped to me. I have an FD adapter sitting in a box that I have not had a chance to use yet.

From what I have seen I think it comes down to Sony has the better body but Fuji has more/faster native lenses.

The other considering factor is that I am guessing that the fuji is smaller and lighter with most of the primes? Maybe not but the look smaller than Sony's offerings.

The Sony feels better in the hand to me. I like the way the controls are set up on the Sony more then the Fuji. Fuji does have more Native lenses for their system that is true, and do not get me wrong my X-E2 was an awesome camera I had mine paired with the Fuji 35mm f/1.4 and it was an awesome combo. For me I am not terribly concerned with having native auto focus lens for the A7. Focus peaking with manual focus lenses has really opened up another world for me and I do not feel like I am missing out on anything.

Thanks for sharing. The only "need" for AF for me is the weddings as I mentioned. It's going to be a tough call.

^Dorian- Overall I would say both are equal in size but like stated the only advantage of the Fuji is the native lens selection. As far as Autofocus I've grown very fond of Manually focusing with focus peaking. I just did an Event at a restaurant last night with no flash, and only used my A7 with my Canon EF 24L II on my metabones adaptor and manually focused the whole night. I had focus peaking and magnify on to get it as sharp as posbbile.

Dorian, one thing I would add is if you pixel peep, get the sony. That's what killed it for me with the fuji

More beauties! I had my mind all made up on the xt1 but those pics of the 55mm are absolutely gorgeous. I wish I never found this thread...
