^ Lost AF / IS function / EXIF data etc, are not a big deal; but lost Infinity focus with any adapter will be very very irritable.

It's nice in the hand and the focusing was interesting. He had a 50 Summicron on it and was shooting in monochrome. Then I started reading the reviews. As far as I can tell not much is going to out perform the d800e and zeiss ZF lenses. It's a clean working system from capture to print.

I will say, however, that the a7Rs real magic is in the whole manual focusing experience. On a tripod a DSLR in LiveView is easy to focus, but nothing beats the manual focus tools in the a7R's superb EVF. Really, you should keep the D800E for tripod work and get an a7R for handheld shooting. David | Flickr

The a7r focus is helpful and it's a better street camera from a functional standpoint but I've been lusting for a Xpan for street and I have a Shen-Hao 6x17 for tripod work.

I had had some concerns about certain colors (some of my skies were looking very cyan), but the color profile fixes that to my satisfaction. I'm glad you're using the X-rite color checker passport. I use it for everything I do.

It's an extra step in my workflow to reassure color accuracy. After making a color profile for both my cameras, I created a LR processing preset with some basic settings I prefer as a default, including basic sharpening as well as the camera's color profile. When importing to LR the processing preset is automatically applied, so it really takes a minimal effort to utilize. And it's well worth the effort. David | Flickr
