Looks like I need to restock my bar...and dust the bottles.

Makers Mark
85mm - f2 - 1/80th - iso 6400 - no noise reduction/sharpening done

The shot was also hand held and manual focused.

Wow, those are super sharp David. I'm curious though, do you recall what color the walls were? On my monitor, there is a bluish cast to them.

The color on the white walls was varied: blue from daylighting, and warm yellow from the reflected light off the wood floors. In Lightroom I used the white balance picker to select an in-between area on the white walls. Per your helpful feedback, I revised and reloaded them with less of a blue cast.

Some more... :)

^ That sunset looks pretty great to me! :)

^ Gene, you inspire me the way you find aesthetically-pleasing settings in your own home to photograph. You have a nice home!

Thanks. I especially like your paper umbrellas. I remember when I made a night light out of one. It was placed in the corner of a room on the floor with the top of the umbrella facing out. The light shining through the colored paper cast a great, subdued light.

MigsVuitton, nice series. I take it fast auto focusing wasn't an issue using the Sony lens?

Bought one of these on ebay for less than $4.
Took a month to arrive but it works fine on the A7r
Wireless shutter release. Works on bulb too. :)

Thanks, David & Gene.
Anyway wife still doesn't like the Melb sunset shot; so we didn't stop for another shot for the sunset during our walk this evening.

Anyway I manage to get a shot of bee with those red flower from the gum tree. Full size JPEG from the camera (with 200mm f/2.8L II):

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sony-alpha-a7 (external link)

DPReview's a7 review is interesting. They reference an issue with the a7(R) that I have had my own suspicions about: posterization caused by Sony's compressed raw format. I have seen some posterization in continuous tone areas of my photos (more than from my 5D III) and wonder if it is due to the compresse raw. Sony should at least provide a menu quality option for an uncompressed raw format.

All-in-all, it's a nice review by DPReview and, all things considered, the a7 is a great best-fit camera for me. :)

Not an issue though my 5d3 and L glass did focus quicker. The sony had a better keeper ratio with majority of shots in focus where I wanted it to be.
