I recently had the pleasure of using the canon 40mm F2.8 STM lens and I have to say I would welcome a few more pancake AF lenses from Canon if they can keep the quality there in terms of IQ, build quality and decent AF in a small package. For APS-C camera's a 20mm F2.0 or something similar would be so awesome. The 40mm is a bit long on APSC for indoor shooting I think. Going out with friends and family just throw it on and head out with just the camera + pancake lens on and nothing else.... make the Canon system more versatile IMO. While there is nothing pocketable about DSLR's at-least this makes an evening out with the camera, friends and family not feel like your lugging a brick around and still get amazing pictures/video. I know there is M43 options but I would like to keep to just one camera system you know what I mean...

Anyone else think this?

Count me in for a 22mm F 2.8 and or 27mm F 2.8 for crop (there is a nice 22mm F 2.0 for the EOS-M, but I would like a normal EF mount version). The 40mm F 2.8 is so nice for full frame, I have given up the notion of adapting a 45mm F 2.8 Zeiss Tessar.

As said above the 22mm pancake on the M is such a gem. If only there's one for crop...

Yeah +1 ... if they made a 22mm F.20 pancake for APSC that would be so awesome.

An EFS 22mm would be good.
Can are clearly making primes for the EOS-M, they have yet to make a prime for the rest of the EOS crop range... I assume 22mm would be doable in an EFS format.

Only if it is a decent focal length for crop...

IMO, my 40mm pancake is an awkward focal length for a crop camera. Not long enough for some things and too long for others...

Its only saving graces are its tiny size and low price. It was so cheap that I tried one but, seldom if ever use it...

the M22 is pretty damn awesome, and the 40 pancake should have have a wider 1.8-1.4 version...

*Rases hand*

I really want a 30-35mm pancake for the EOS M, then it would really be my perfect go everywhere camera :)
